My boyfriend and I were hungry and stopped at this restaurant. We sat at the outdoor bar, and Bridget was our bartender and she was great. She started me off with a blackberry martini and it was very good. For my meal I got 2 different fish tacos and they both were very tasty. My boyfriend got the bacon burger which he enjoyed. It was a good time.
Jimmy Hula's on Clearwater beach. The good: - Friendly staff. - I ordered 2 tacos, 1 Baja and 1 Big Island, I really liked the big island, with the mandarin orange was a nice combo, some citrus tanginess was a great flavor, the Baja fell a bit short on flavor. - 3 ppl in our party all ordered burgers, and all said was ok. The not so great: - Music was a tad too loud. - 2 ppl in our party ordered poke bowls, 1 person said it was a bit too salty, and 1 said the Tuna was small portion. - Pina colada lacked rum. All in all, a decent experience for a quick bar level fish taco and burgers.
Jimmy Hula’s is a restaurant serving typical beach food, well known for its fish tacos. It is located on Clearwater Beach, and is a block away from a the shoreline. The decor is very colorful, has lots of surfboards, and references to California and Hawaii. This restaurant is free seating, so expect to seat yourself and a waiter will come to serve you. The service is surprisingly attentive, even better than restaurants that have an automated service for guests. Got all our needs down. The food here is very good. We got the fish tacos and a burger. The Baja Taco had a very good texture to the fish, and the sauce, salsa, and cheese was a very good addition. Was very spicy! The burger had a dry egg, so don’t expect the yolk to explode. It’s very good considering that, and the meat had lots of flavor. The fries were also very enjoyable. The queso and bacon smothered version was good, and the jerk fries were awesome: very good with the seasoning, sauce, and cheese. This restaurant doesn’t get much attention, but it’s worth it. Come here for some top notch beach food!
I really enjoyed my meal here. My flight got in late so I was eating dinner here around 8pm because it was close to my hotel. I got the nachos and they were soo tasty but the serving was huge!! I ate until I was full and still took home a full box of leftovers. They made a great snack later. I also tried one of their fishbowl drinks! I don’t remember the name but it was tasty and strong! I thought everything was really reasonably priced as well. I would definitely come back the next time I’m in Clearwater
This was my first time at Jimmy Hula's, and it was awesome! I absolutely loved the fun signs throughout the restaurant. We sat just past the opening, and there was a nice breeze. There is a mural on the adjacent building that you can see behind the bar area. It was really neat. Our server was fantastic! The drinks and food were great, with lots of flavor. I had a Kona Big Wave beer and ordered The Kingston tacos. They did not skimp on the meat. The tacos were packed full of jerk chicken, a sweet plantain, and creamy sauce. I was full from one taco. I love tacos, and these were definitely one of my favorites! Do yourself a favor and eat here. You won't be sad!
Well Hannah the waitress did her best. We waited an hour after ordering to receive the first person’s order then about 5 min each for each additional persons. The food was good except for the guacamole (it was just an acidic avocado scooped out). Hannah saw that we were irritated after waiting about 45 minutes and brought us chips and salsa that was nice of her. The food did come out hot which was very important to me. The truffle french fries are worth trying it’s a deal for four dollars. Hannah gets five stars though. In addition. They said that they were short on staff but there were five people in the kitchen. Four table orders came out before ours. It was too long of a wait. Two of the kitchen people kept coming out and taking a break. If they can fix that they’re a great place to go. Also please consider dressing up your guacamole.
Hands down! Best bowls! Best tacos! Best service! I have gotten different dishes from here and I am a very happy Customer! I don’t easily give 5 stars but hey, they over did themselves!
Stopped in for lunch today, skeptical after reading some negative reviews. I am so glad that we decided to stop in and give it a try anyway. Food was absolutely amazing flavorful and was a great price, The jerk fries I highly recommend. service was also top-notch very attentive our server came over multiple times to make sure we were all set.
